Adhesive Behavior of the Pack-Borided AISI 304L Steel with Microwave Hybrid Heating

Pack-boriding was applied to AISI 304L stainless steel material at temperatures of 850, 900 and 950 °C for 2, 4 6 hours with microwave hybrid heating method. The morphology the boride layer formed on surface samples examined by optical microscope, phases in were determined XRD. analysis adhesive strength substrate carried out Daimler-Benz Rockwell-C adhesion test. tests repeated least 3 times each pack-borided all process times. After tests, macro SEM images indentation traces taken. By analysing craters, it has been whether damages are acceptable or not reference VDI 3198 standard. craters sample surfaces 850 method times, 2 °C, have best quality HF1 category norm.
